Coming soon: Deliberately Difficult & Laughing
A publication for (midlife) women who're done being socially domesticated
I’m working hard on preparing its launch at the moment.
Been doing so for quiet some time. The shift in topics here may have tipped you off about a new direction. And it’s been rough. Which is also why I feel challenged to keep up my writing for 42 Sidenotes.
Mostly because although I finally got clarity on what I’ll be offering in terms of guides, courses, and coaching, all the education and coaching I sought on setting it up and marketing it properly didn’t give me true clarity on what to prioritize.
This week I found two authors here on Substack who’ve given me a clear path forward. A strategy, instead of mere tactics. A minimum viable list of what to do instead of pushing me to hustle like mad (which I can’t anymore, even if I wanted to).
It’s renewed my energy for getting Deliberately Difficult & Laughing up and running.
Join Deliberately Difficult & Laughing
Deliberately Difficult & Laughing is for (midlife) women who’re done being socially domesticated.
When you subscribe you’ll get essays on how patriarchy and patriarchal thinking conditioned (and conditions) you and what you can do to shake the shackles by which it keeps women in a double bind: encouraging specific ‘female’ behavior on one hand and at the same time complaining about women not being/behaving like ‘males’ (especially at work) while punishing them with shame and judgment when they have the audacity to do so.

Excited to see you get on. You’ll receive issues as soon as it launches!
Be sure to turn off Disconnect Me if you use it, or it will look extremely ugly and not show any information. Not that you need it, you already have it here ;) And you can still join without it.
42 Sidenotes stays alive and kicking
Oh, and rest assured that 42 Sidenotes won’t disappear.
It may even get a bit more TLC than it is now.
Because I’ll be using it as an outlet for my infinite curiosity that I do not want to conflate Deliberately Difficult & Laughing. So I’ll be returning it to where it started: observations, answers, and question about the meaning of life, the universe, and everything.
And I usually have oodles to say about that. As it occurs to me, or as I find articles and posts by others that speak to me, resonate with me. Or do the exact opposite!
